Statement of our Privacy Policy: Hiram Cohen & Son, Inc (hereafter “HCSI”) is committed to protecting your privacy rights. We acknowledge your right to keep your own financial information confidential and, because of this, we have created this document to explain our privacy policy to you. In addition, we are complying with both state and federal laws which require insurance agencies to notify clients, about how we treat your nonpublic information of a personal nature, whether is be financial, medical or other information with which you have entrusted us.

In the course of our relationship with you, we collect information from a variety of sources. We collect this information in order to carry out our business functions and assist in providing the highest quality of service to you. This information may be provided from an application or other forms as part of the supporting documentation submitted or obtained in the insurance underwriting or claim handling process. Information also comes to us from third parties, including agents, employers, other insurance brokers or insurance companies, health care professionals, and consumer reporting agencies or public sources. We may obtain information about your business or occupation, your property, health, credit and claim history, as well as personal data such as names, addresses, social security numbers, driver’s license numbers, telephone numbers and e-mail addresses.

Information We Disclose to Third Parties: In the course of our normal business activities, we may disclose collected information to affiliates and non-affiliated entities. These activities include the marketing, quoting and servicing of your insurance needs and the performance of other essential functions of our business. Non-affiliated entities are those outside HCSI with whom we also conduct our activities including insurance companies, wholesalers, other brokers and agents, claims administrators and other financial services or marketing firms. We never sell any private information to other companies.

Practices Regarding Protection of Information: Our employees are trained to understand the importance of confidentiality and are required to adhere to our privacy policies and procedures. We restrict access to nonpublic personal information about you to those employees who need to know that information in order to provide products and services to you. We maintain physical, electronic and procedural safeguards to protect your nonpublic information.

Regulation 194 disclosure: HCSI (“the producer”) is an insurance producer licensed by the State of New York. Insurance producers are authorized by their license to confer with insurance purchasers about the benefits, term and conditions of the insurance contracts; to offer advice concerning the substantive benefits of a particular insurance contracts; to sell insurance; and to obtain insurance for purchasers. The role of the producer in any particular transaction typically involved one or more of these activates.

Compensation will be paid to the producer based on the insurance contract the producer sells. Depending on the insurer(s) and insurance contract(s) the purchaser selects, compensation will be paid by the insurer(s) selling the insurance contract or by another third party. Such compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including the insurance contract(s) and the insurer(s) the purchaser selects. In some cases, other factors such as the volume of business a producer provider to an insurer or the profitability of insurance contracts a producer provides to an insurer also may affect compensation.

The insurer purchaser may obtain information about compensation expected to be received by the producer based in whole or in part on the sale of the insurance to the purchaser, and (if applicable) compensation expected to be received based in whole or in part on any alternative quotes presented to the purchaser by the producer, by requesting such information from the producer.
