Look how far we’ve come

In 2019, Hiram Cohen & Son celebrated our 100th year in business. We are excited and proud to reach this milestone, especially because most family businesses do not make it past two generations — we made it to four! As we enter our second century, we’d like to take a minute to reflect on our journey and how we can continue our family tradition into the next 100 years.

We could not have reached our 100th anniversary without the help of ALL the people who have worked alongside us. A business may have a name and a reputation, but the core of a business is made up of people and culture. Without our strong culture and the great people we’ve worked with, we could not have reached 100 years. We owe a huge debt of gratitude to every single person who has been a part of our journey.

We are very thankful for the great relationships we share with both our clients and insurance company partners. For 100 years, we’ve had the pleasure of working with some of the highest quality insurance companies offering some of the best coverage, and we’ve heard time and again that our clients are thankful for our guidance when they experience a claim. If anyone asks how we lasted 100 years, its simple — relationships with our clients and insurance companies.

The marketplace is changing more rapidly than ever, with disruptors claiming they can offer the same coverage and service for less money, and brokerage firms consolidating into larger conglomerates. This has been a consistent theme in the insurance industry throughout our 100 years. But in that time, Hiram Cohen and Son has consistently offered a high standard of advice, deep relationships with key insurance company executives, in-depth knowledge of insurance policies and claim processes, and a hands-on presence during the underwriting process. We pledge over the next 100 years we will be able to offer our client the same personal touch that we have offered the last 100 years.
